We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

Do you remember when you first started dating your spouse? That time was so magical and special! Shouldn’t marriage be that way too? Marriage should be all about giving freely to one another, but instead it becomes robotic and we do the same thing day after day without thinking. When you add children in, it becomes even crazier. The saying is “time flies when you’re having fun”, but I’m pretty sure it flies by us whether we’re having fun or not. I think we could all use a little more fun and love in our marriage.
We need to work on putting God at the center of our marriage, so it can flourish and we can grow together as He intended. I recently received Awaken Love (The Song Couple’s Devotional) and I’m really looking forward to going through it with Tom. We just finished our first small group study through our church, but this is something we could do with just us.
The Song Couple’s Devotional is a 6-week book for couples that can help awaken love in their marriage. With daily relationship insights and prayer points drawn from the Song of Solomon, this devotional will help couples grow in their relationship with God and one another.
Inspired by the Song of Solomon, The Song is both a full-length movie and resource for churches to explore God’s plan for relationships, love and marriage.
If you haven’t seen the movie, here’s the trailer.
This devotional is super short: most days only have about 2 pages to read! This will be perfect for us to do at night when the kids are in bed. Nothing special, just a couple minutes each night after we’re already in our bed. I’ve read the intro and a bit of the first day already. It’s so easy to read because it’s very straightforward and down to earth. I laughed while reading the first page! I would recommend this book to anyone who is married or even planning to be married.

I have a wonderful marriage but the hardest part has been wanting a little more time with my husband. He works all the time.
