Our love for all things VeggieTales continues to grow. I was flipping through my newest Family Christian mailer and spotted a new product: VeggieTales SuperComics. Charlie was having a LEGO Superhero party and he loves VeggieTales, so I knew I was going to pick these up for part of his gift. The next thing I knew, Family Christian offered to send them to me to do a post. Yes, please!
Like all other VeggieTales items, the SuperComics are bright, colorful, and perfect for our growing kids. Each SuperComic includes three VeggieTales stories, hundreds of full-color illustrations and fun bonus features. Right now there are 2 volumes, but I hope they’ll be putting out more. Stories included in the first volume are Dave and the Giant Pickle, Lyle the Kindly Viking and an all new Larry Boy and the Prideosaurus. Each story focuses on a specific lesson, with sharing, self-esteem, and humility being covered in this volume. Stories included in the second volume are Josh and the Big Wall, The League of Incredible Vegetables, and Larry Boy and the Reckless Ruckus. Each story focuses on a specific lesson, with obedience, handling fear, and saying you’re sorry being covered in this volume.
I knew these would be a hit with Charlie because he falls asleep almost every night reading his LEGO magazines or comic books. Being able to give him a comic book that reinforces the lessons and morals that we’re trying teach him, while using his favorite Veggie friends, is win-win in my book!
In the back of each SuperComics volume, there is a parent connection page. I love that VeggieTales is always giving us parents tips on how to use their resources the best we can.
These are not flimsy little paper comics like the typical comic books. They’re a paperback book with over 100 pages. I was so happy to see this because I know how rough our boys can be with things.
Thanks to Family Christian, one Mom’s Messy Miracles reader will win both volumes of the VeggieTales SuperComics!
