I absolutely love Christmas trees! Every year, we go to one of our local tree farms, Cherry Grove Tree Farm, to pick out our tree. I really like taking the wagon ride out to explore the land and pick out a tree that we love. Last year, Owen was only about a month old so we skipped the wagon ride and picked out one from the barn that was pre-cut.

This is actually the same tree farm that we used to go to when I was little. I love being able to take my family to the same places I grew up going to. Creating more memories combined with my own just seems extra magical to me. This year the ride took us way out to a part I’ve never been!

When we finally got to where we were stopping, the kids were so excited to run around and look for a tree. Well, Owen was excited to just get down and go.

After Charlie found one that he loved (and we agreed on), Daddy went to work cutting it down. Charlie was helping to “catch it” when it fell.

Charlie tried catching the tree as Daddy was cutting it.

Once we’ve got our tree, we toss it on the wagon and head back! They shake our tree, bale it, and drill a hole for the stand. Inside we’ll find crafts to purchase from ornaments to wreaths and other home décor.

Santa is also inside!

Before we left, we ducked into the snack barn for some hot chocolate, brownies, and hot dogs.

We brought the tree in last night, but waited to decorate until today. It was really hard for Charlie to understand that the “tree needs to warm up”.

The first ornament has been hung! This year it was Charlie’s Optimus Prime Hallmark Keepsake Ornament. We picked it up a couple of weeks ago and were told they were in limited quantity already!
