We tend to do movie night at least once every weekend. We don’t often get to the theaters to see the newest movies, but we tend to snag our favorites as soon as they are released so we can watch them at home. We’ve been dying to watch How to Train Your Dragon 3, so I picked up the for our movie night this past weekend.
The How to Train Your Dragon franchise is one of my personal favorites. I mean, the kids love it, but it’s perfect for the entire family too.
While I was picking up the movie at Walmart, I peeked at the How to Train Your Dragon apparel and toys that are available right now. I had to grab a few for the boys!
The Exclusive DVD gift set includes 2 Funko keychains, which worked out great for our boys – they were very excited to put them on their book bags.
In the third movie, a new character was introduced and this time – it’s a love interest for Toothless!
As a mom, I loved seeing Hiccup and his friends mature and grow up through the series. There is a lot of growing up in this movie and the emotions that go with all that that entails.
I won’t spoil the movie for you, but I cried – like ugly cried at the end of the movie. It was the perfect end to a franchise that we have followed and enjoyed since the beginning.
Of course, every good movie night includes snacks!
In the How to Train Your Dragon series, we see all kinds of different dragons. I have to imagine that all of these dragons would have some pretty cool dragon eggs.
The boys and I used a small silicone egg mold and a variety of candies to create a bunch of cool egg designs that we imagined the different dragons would have.
We dropped some sprinkles and other little candies in the molds and then filled the rest of the mold with melted candy melts and chocolates. After a few minutes in the fridge, they pop right out of the molds!
These fun dragon eggs are perfect to sit atop a cupcake!
I just baked up some of our favorite chocolate cupcakes and put a little icing on top. Using some chunks of chocolate that I cut from a bar, I created a little nest for our eggs.
These are obviously not some fancy professional cupcakes, but these Dragon Egg Cupcakes are perfect for movie night with the family! I love that the kids can get involved and let their creativity out.
Head to Walmart and purchase the new release of today!
