I love being able to cook with the kids. There are plenty of things even our two year old can do to help. Safety is a big concern with kids in the kitchen, but with some special tools and lots of supervision, everyone will have a good experience.

Today I want to share some great tools for the kitchen that make cooking with kids easier.

Favorite Kitchen Tools for Cooking with kids

Apron – We love our hat and apron set from Handstand Kids, but you could also get a solid color apron and decorate your own.

Spring Whisk – I remember my grandmother trying to show me over and over again how to whisk eggs with my wrist. I now understand the pain that probably was for her. This tool will let your little one use an up and down motion to whisk. It's fun! Kids can use it to whip eggs, cream. or other simple things.

Egg Slicer – I love that an egg slicer has multiple uses. Kids can use it (with supervision of course) to slice hard boiled eggs, mushrooms, strawberries, and other soft fruits and veggies.

Mini Rolling Pin – A smaller silicone rolling pin is perfect for the kids to use when making cookies, pies, or pizza.

Kid-safe Knives – Kids see us cut everything and they always want to help. With these nylon knives, they can do just that! The handles are large to give them a good grip and the the tip is blunt.

Chop and Scoop – These flexible cutting boards make it easier for kids to chop and then transfer their ingredients to where they need to go with less spilling. They're available in fun, bright colors, too!

Potato Masher – Let the kids use their super strong muscles to mash the potatoes. Of course, this also works with other root vegetables and fruits.

Silicone Spatulas – We use our silicone spatulas for just about everything. They're perfect for the kids to stir, spread, and scrap.

Stool or Seat – I love how easy this step stool with a seat makes it for the little ones to be at the counter. It's hard to help if they can't reach!

Measuring Cups – Measuring out ingredients is a great way for kids to work on counting and simple math. These silicone ones are collapsible and come in bright colors.

Egg Pan – This little 4.5″ skillet is perfect for the little ones to try their hand at cooking something just for them. Grab a mini turner to fit in this pan.
