Of course the kids love all of their new shows from Nick Jr and Disney Junior, but we've been sharing some of our favorite cartoons from our childhood. I'm sure you remember Saturday morning cartoons. I mean, it was like the BEST part of the week, right?
Some of these are the exact shows we watched growing up and some are reboots, but the sentiment is still there. Go grab a bowl of cereal, your remote for Netflix, and enjoy some of the favorites on Netflix!
Childhood Favorites on Netflix
Rugrats – Okay, so my mom was never a fan of this show, but we still managed to watch it plenty. You can watch The Rugrats Movie and Rugrats Go Wild with your kids now!
Alvin and the Chipmunks – I loved watching Alvin & The Chipmunks when I was growing up. Check out Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman and Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein.
Danger Mouse – Danger Mouse is definitely a classic! He's a super-spy that spends his time foiling evil plots. What's not cool about that? There's even a new Netflix Original Danger Mouse premiering April 29th!
Sonic the Hedgehog – I remember staying up into the wee hours with my father playing the video game when I was younger and then they had a series, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog! Let the kids see what your favorite video game character was like!
Voltron – This one is actually more for those parents a bit older than I am because Voltron was over before I was born. That said, it's still right up my alley! Check out Voltron Force and get ready for the new Netflix Original Voltron Legendary Defender.
Scooby Doo – You can watch Scooby Doo!: Mystery Incorporated for an updated version of the Saturday-morning cartoon classic! Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne roll in the Mystery Machine to solve paranormal mysteries in Crystal Cove.
Care Bears – I always loved Care Bears and now my boys do, too! There are several Care Bears options to choose from on Netflix, including Care Bears & Cousins, Care Bears: Journey to Joke-a-Lot, Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot.
Animaniacs – I was super excited when I saw Animaniacs was added to Netflix recently. It's one of those shows that just makes you laugh. And it's not just for the kids! There is definitely some adult humor, but the kids won't get it.
Garfield – That lazy cat and his lasagna! Who didn't grow up watching Garfield? If you're looking for classic Garfield that you grew up watching, watch Garfield & Friends. When you're done watching those, check out the reboot The Garfield Show.
Transformers – The original Transformers cartoon is not on Netflix currently, but my boys have been loving Transformers: Rescue Bots and Transformers: Robots in Disguise.
Inspector Gadget – Just seeing that name made you sing the song, right? This was definitely one of my favorites when I was a kid. For a family-friendly cartoon, you'll want to watch the Netflix Original Inspector Gadget. You can also catch the live-action movie, Inspector Gadget 2.
The Smurfs – Those cute little blue people (ish creatures) were always fun to watch. Even though The Smurfs and the Magic Flute is from 1976, my boys still enjoy it! Who doesn't love a classic?
The Magic School Bus – I'm sure you watching plenty of The Magic School Bus when you were in school, but now you can watch it at home with your kids! Ms. Frizzle is still just as crazy and you may love her even more!
