We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

This weekend was a pretty blah weekend, but we had some good times.
Friday night is Family Movie Night at church. This week was Big Hero 6! Charlie has been so excited to finish it. He went with Tom to the theater to see it when it came out, but he didn’t make it through the whole thing. Tom and Owen stayed home while Charlie and I enjoyed our night out.
This time we made it through the whole thing. It’s another tear-jerker from Disney. I saw quite a few grown men wiping tears at the end. After the movie is over, our pastor draws a winner for that night’s movie. Charlie was sure we would win. We didn’t. The same family actually won this week that won last week. Charlie broke down in tears that he didn’t win. And by tears and crying I don’t mean that whiny little brat kind of tears that feels entitled to everything kind of crying. I mean that he was so upset because he really loves Big Hero 6 and wanted to win it so we could watch it at home. These were the kind of tears that make mom cry.
When we got home, I ordered a copy of Big Hero 6 on DVD for us to pick-up from Walmart in the morning.
Naturally, the first thing we did Saturday morning was wake up way too early! But… look at how cute this monster is so early.
We finally were able to pick-up our movie at 10AM Saturday morning and we watched it 3 times over the weekend. Personally, it’s a movie I don’t mind watching several times. It’s cute, funny and it has some good music.
If you remember from last weekend, our consignment sale had been extended to include this weekend as well thanks to last weekend’s snow storm.
Well, Sunday brought a new storm, but this time it was ice. The boys and I made a quick trip to the sale to do a little shopping for 50% off day. This time we only spent $15, but snagged a pair of pjs for Charlie, 2 prs of pjs for Owen, a Marvel t-shirt for Charlie, a little bro tank for Owen, a nice long sleeve polo for Charlie and a great LEGO book for Charlie.
After Tom got home on Sunday, we had to venture out on the skating rink of a road to collect our leftovers from the sale. When it’s all said and done, our check will be $309 from this sale. I love being able to make money with stuff that doesn’t fit the boys anymore and spend some to get things that do. If you’re interested in selling at a consignment sale, check out our tips for selling. If you’re just shopping, we have tips for consignment shopping, too!
And per usual, Tom and I finished off the evening with The Walking Dead.
How did you spend your weekend?
