The Shirley Journey

Finding Joy in the Journey

10 Minute Father’s Day Gift

We’re always looking for quick and easy gifts. This one definitely fits the bill. We made this for Father’s Day, but of course, you can do it for Mom, grandparents, or teachers.

10 Minute Father's Day Gift

Head over to Wordle.net to create a word cloud just for the father in your life!

Grab your kids and ask them to describe Dad.

Enter your words or phrases into the Create box. If you are using phrases, put a ~ between each word. Ex. “loves~us”

The bigger you want the word or phrase, the more times you need to enter it.

Wordle to create word cloud

After you hit the GO to create your cloud, you can change the layout, font, and colors a thousand different times until you find one you love.

You’re supposed to be able to print it out right from there, but I couldn’t get it to print onto a 4×6 like I wanted, so I took a screenshot and cropped it. Worked perfect!

Once you have it printed out, you can toss it in a frame and call it done.

Or…

You can have the kids decorate a frame!

We grabbed a $1 wooden frame from Dollar Tree, painted it and now Charlie’s even more proud of our easy project!

And yes, I know this is posted super late, but since it only takes about 10 minutes, you could do this Sunday morning and he’ll be none the wiser.

This is a great gift for the kids to make for Dad anytime of the year. My husband’s birthday is coming up and I think this will be a great after school project for the kids. Not will they be so proud they made it but their Dad will be so touched by it.
