We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

There’s something about an Orange Cranberry Muffin to me that just screams fall! Of course, these will be delicious any time of year, but with those orange and cranberry colors, right now is the perfect time to share them!
I was recently sent a few new products from KitchenIQ to try out with my friends. Who doesn’t love gathering in the kitchen to make a yummy treat like this one?
One of the items I received is the Kitchen IQ Better Zester. First of all, how fun is that to say? It really is a better zester though! Perfect for zesting all kinds of citruses, like our oranges that we need, the Better Zester has a non-stick food approved coating for smoother zesting and easier clean up! Also included is a squeegee so you can easily slide along the backside of the blade and get all that moist zest you want for flavor! You know we like to keep things easy around here!
And… my favorite part of the Better Zester? The Fresh Zest container! When you’re zesting, it goes right into the container which includes measurements on it. The definitely makes things easy when you’re trying to figure out how much you’ve already zested or still need.
- 2 cups of Flour, sifted
- ¾ honey
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ½ cup of dried cranberries
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of orange juice
- ¼ cup of unsweetened applesauce
- 1 Tbsp of grated orange peel
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Combine all of your dry ingredients, set aside.
- In a separate bowl combine egg, orange juice, and the orange peel and beat until mixed well.
- Add the all of the dry ingredients at one time and stir just enough to moisten the dry ingredients.
- Spoon batter into your muffin cups.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Allow to cool and enjoy!

While our muffins were baking, we tested out the other items I was sent: The Edge Grip Knife Sharpener and The Potato Tool.
My knives are definitely not in the best shape and new ones are on my wish list! With The Edge Grip Knife Sharpener, I’m able to use the coarse sharpening slot to quickly sharpen my dull or damaged knives. This sharpener is a two in one though! I can use the fine slot’s ceramic rods to finish and polish the edge, giving my already sharp knives a light touch-up.
Something a little different about this sharpener is the Edge Grip Bottom, which allows stable sharpening on the counter top or edge of the counter top or table.
Everyone was impressed with how easy this made sharpening knives! We’ve all seen the knife sharpeners on our knife blocks, but those really are a pain to use! This was so much better! We can totally see why it is a bestseller on Amazon!
Up next is The Potato Tool. This is a super cute gadget that is definitely going to get some use in my house! It’s a 3-in-1 and I love when I can get multiple uses out of things.
This bad boy has a scrub brush for cleaning potatoes and other veggies, a non-stick stainless steel coated peeler, and a cute paring knife is tucked inside the handle!
The handle is non-slip and comfortable to hold. Easy, folks! That’s what it’s all about.
My mother-in-law is a great sport and was happy to have her picture taken with her new Better Zester that KitchenIQ supplied for my party guests!
The KitchenIQ products that we tested out were fun to use, helpful in the kitchen, and affordable!
