We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

I received our new bag from okiedog in exchange for this review, but all opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.
With two little boys now, it seems like getting ready to get out the door takes longer than the actual errand. Charlie is now pretty much potty-trained and Owen is (obviously) still in diapers. We’ll be carrying a diaper bag around for quite awhile.
The Damask-Metro Messenger Diaper Bag is really cute, which is always a plus in my book! I don’t want to carry a diaper bag that looks like a kid’s bag with cartoon characters and kid designs on it. I believe those should be saved for the kids to carry. We got the white bag, which is gender neutral enough that I can use it like a purse, but my husband can also carry the diaper bag around without feeling uncomfortable. We all know how those men are!
As you can see, the “white” bag isn’t really white. I was scared of the white, but it’s really a lighter grey, which I love! The bag is polyester, which makes it super easy to wipe off and clean. All okiedog bags are also PVC- free, Phthalate- free, AZO- free and BPA- free.
In the picture above, I’m using the shorter straps to carry on my shoulder, but it also includes a removable longer strap, perfect for cross-body wear. As a mom of two, I really need both of my hands- so being able to wear this across my body and having full use of both arms is really a plus.
1 outfit // utensils // 1-2 pairs of underwear // first aid kit // Itzy Ritzy reusable snack bag // crayons // small toy // Planet Wise wet bag
Baby:
2 outfits // 4-5 diapers // Itzy Ritzy reusable snack bag // wipes // diaper cream // bib // jar of baby food // baby spoon // changing pad – one was included in my okiedog bag // board book // small toy
Mom:
snack for mom // set of Evenflo disposable nursing pads // wallet // bottle of water // camera // Itzy Ritzy Nursing Happens Infinity Breastfeeding Scarf (not pictured, but in the bag)
All of this fits in my okiedog bag without any problem! And… the bag is still super light to pick up and carry around!
As a mom, I don’t get to carry my purse very much at all anymore. It’s pretty much just the diaper bag. With our new okie dog metro messenger bag, I don’t need to carry my purse! On one side of the bag, there’s a zipper section that has a parent zone! There’s a bunch of little pockets for me to stash my things, but still have easy access to them. There’s also a loop that I can put my keeps on. No more digging for keys that have fallen to the bottom of the diaper bag!
On the inside of the bag, there are two pockets on one side and a big giant one on the other. The big pocket holds the included changing pad, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, and our wet bag. The smaller pockets on the other side hold toys and food/utensils.
The outside of the bag also has two pockets perfect for the included insulated bottle holder (perfect for mom’s water since we’re not a bottle family)! The other long side also has a large velcro pocket that I stash a couple of Charlie’s cars in for super easy access without unzipping the bag.
Another thing we love, but haven’t tried out yet (we will while on vacation next week) is the clipix universal stroller attachment system that is included with the okiedog bag! With this system, you can attach the bag and other accessories right to the storller. Here’s a picture from okiedog’s website showing the bag attached with the clipix system.
Also included with the okiedog bag: a changing mat, an insulated bottle holder, and an accessory bag.

It has been a long while since I carried a diaper bag. I had a vera one that my SIL got me as a shower gift. This one looks like it holds a bunch of stuff which is great.

wow looks like a lot of space in there. I have a toddler and a preschooler myself so this sounds like it would be great for me
