I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for the TB Blood Test. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
As moms, it’s our job to keep our kids safe. While we can keep them safe from most things, we can’t keep them in a bubble. They’re going to get hurt and they’re going to get sick. Nothing is worse than having your little one get sick and feeling like there is nothing you can do.
Even though keeping our kids healthy is our top priority, getting them to doctors appointments is not always easy with school, activities, and the every day craziness of life. Being able to receive reliable care in the least amount of time is a big deal to me.
Typically, when it is suspected that you have a tuberculosis infection, you’re given a TB Skin Test. When given the TB skin test, you’ll need to make another trip back to the doctor a few days later. They’ll do a physical examination and if infected with TB, a raised lump will develop at the site where the tuberculin was injected. However, a previous TB vaccination is likely to cause a false-positive result and individuals may also experience severe itching at the puncture site.
However, there’s a new way to test for TB. The TB blood test only needs a 3ml draw of fresh blood, no matter the patient’s age or immune status. The best part? You only have to head to the doctor once! If you’re a mom, you know how important that is! Dragging kids, especially if you have more than one, to the doctors is no fun at all.
The TB Blood Test is able to give reliable results that are not open to interpretation. The medical advances since that TB skin test was created over 110 years ago are absolutely amazing!
Always consult your doctor.
