We took a trip to Ireland last year, but it was just us. We knew immediately the kids would love it, so this time we brought the kids to Ireland! Day 1 We left the house Monday, August 14th about noon and arrived at Newark International Airport at about 2:30, breezed through security, and sat […]

I used to do weekend recaps, but stopped as our weekends became boring I guess. We’re going to start it up again and share (even if we have a boring weekend at home and do absolutely nothing).
Charlie spent the weekend at Mommom’s. That means pillow forts in the living room and lots of donuts for breakfast.
This past weekend we consigned (and bought) at our local consignment sale. We love doing these as it allows us to get clothes and some toys that the boys will actually be able to use and get rid of the ones they can’t. For about $60, I was able to get Charlie a swimsuit for this year, a cool spiderman jacket, a bunch of super hero and LEGO shirts, about 5 pairs of pajamas and 5 or 6 pairs of shorts. Can’t beat that. And- I took Charlie with me to help pick them out.
If you didn’t see the weather on the east coast this weekend, Saturday was our first real snowstorm of 2015 here in Maryland. It happened to start while I was working my “volunteer” shift for the consignment sale. Let me tell you: it came down hard and fast. My drive home should have been about 12 minutes, but took about 40.
When it was all said and done, we had about 6-8″ of snow. It’s hard to know how much we really got because freezing rain came down right after the snow so that compacted it quite a bit.
On Sunday, Tom spent about 2 hours shoveling the cars out so we could hit up the 50% off sale at the consignment sale. While there we found out that they’re doing the sale next Saturday and Sunday too because sales were down because of the storm. Our sales were pretty good, but I’m so excited at the opportunity to sell even more next weekend!
After we grabbed some groceries with only Owen in tow, we headed to Mommom’s to pick up Charlie and play in the snow. Mommom has a big yard that the boys can actually run around in, unlike our townhouse.
Playing in the snow always wears everyone out, so quick baths and an easy bedtime!
Of course, we finished our night watching The Walking Dead. It’s definitely our show of choice around here on Sunday nights. Though nights like last night it’s hard to make it until 9PM.
What did you do this weekend?
