I was never great about keeping track of my period, but that got much worse after I had the boys. Having a period pop up and surprise me could be a real downer, but not when you're prepared! The secret to being prepared at all times is to have a cycle survival kit!
I can't tell you how many times I've been out and about and then BAM! Oops! I've had to ask people at random places if they had anything they could spare. It's not a fun experience. I'm making sure that doesn't happen again, so I created a Mommy Survival Kit to help Cycle Survival! It'll also help me to be prepared if I'm at a playdate and another mommy forgets like I used to and could use a little help surviving.
For starters, if you have a smartphone go download a Period Tracker app. It definitely helps you with reminders that it's about that time and will help you if you're trying to conceive. No more babies for us, but I really need that “period is expected” reminder. If you have a teen, this is a great app for them because we all remember what it was like back then, right?
While you're downloading apps, download the Ibotta app so you can pick up U by Kotex products at Walgreens and get .75 back with this coupon for Liners Lightdays or this coupon for Liners Curves or Barely There!
My Cycle Survival Kit contains U by Kotex® products to make sure I'm prepared for whatever I need: tampons, U by Kotex Curves®, and U by Kotex® Lightdays Liners. I love how cute the U by Kotex Curves® are and that they are folded up to pop in a bag or pocket so nicely.
In this super cute little bag I also picked up at Walgreens, you'll find some lip shimmer and facial cleansing wipes to help with a little pick-me-up on those days when you're just feeling blah. You know what I'm talking about. Especially in the summer heat. A little lip color and a clean face always make me feel better. Don't forget about your snacks! Sweet and salty snack bars and honey roasted peanuts are in the bag for when that need hits. And if you need a little relief from cramps and all that fun stuff, you'll find a little pill bottle with that, too. And, I always try to have change in the bag if I need to grab a drink or another snack from a vending machine.
You can find all of this at Walgreens!
How cute would this be as a little kit for girls for their first period? I know I have boys, but this would have been great to keep in my locker or book bag at school when I was younger.
I do not want to miss out on any fun with these crazy kids because I'm feeling blah and just want to stay home. Just toss your cycle survival kit in the diaper bag. Let's face it: that diaper bag has become your purse.
Running around with the boys also helps with those yucky cramps! I don't “exercise” like I should, but chasing them has to count for something!
This mommy is ready to go and will be prepared for whenever I need to survive my cycle!

That would be a great present for a girl’s first period. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore.

YES, having something like this in my locker would have been amazing. Thank goodness that these things are around for us now! 🙂 #client

before I had my hysterectomy I carried pads with me everywhere. I had one or two stashed in coat pockets, purses, you name it. It’s been 6 months since surgery, and I’m still finding stashes!
