Back in October we attended Social Media on the Sand at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages & Spa. We had an absolutely amazing time and I still have a few more posts to share with you about the resort. Today is all about Charlie (our 4 year old) and his favorite things about our trip.
Pirate Waterpark

The Pirates Island Waterpark has a big ship the kids can climb on and slide down. This is where the boys spent most of their time at the waterpark. Charlie wanted to do a few of the slides, but then changed his mind because he was a little too scared.

The waterpark area also has a 50’s Diner (Bobby Dee’s) where you can grab a burger, fries, shakes, and ice cream! Charlie enjoyed the ice cream and shakes a few times during our stay.

What kid doesn’t love running through water jets that shoot up from the ground?

The Pools
In Charlie’s words, “There was a lot of water parts there and I really like cuz we went to each one.” We didn’t go to each one, actually. There are ten pools and two kiddie pools. I’m glad he feels like he hit all of the pools, but there are a few I went to without him! (sshhh)

Since we stayed in Italian Village, most of our pool time was spent in the Italian Village pool. This pool is almost always hopping with fun activities. Charlie and I even went down for a late night swim one night. The two of us enjoyed a little fun in the pool and then the hot tub before heading back up to our room.

The pool in the waterpark area was also a favorite! Both boys loved playing in the many pool options available.

Our Room
“Our room because we got a double decker bed. I didn’t saw one of those before. There was a little slide out bed for Owen. We had a frigerator and tvs.”

I still need to get our post up with all the details of our Italian Village Suite, but I’ll show you the room that the boys stayed in. There were bunk beds and then a trundle bed under the bottom bunk. They also brought us a guard for the bed and do have cribs available if you need them, too!

The room included an xbox (though we didn’t play it during our stay) and a TV! Charlie loved falling asleep at night on the top bunk watching the TV. He was usually so tired from the day that he didn’t make it through a show, but he loved that it was there!
Baking Cookies with Cookie Monster
“I was really sad that day because Cookie Monster ate our cookies.” That’s harsh, Cookie Monster! It’s no surprise that Charlie said one of his favorite things was baking cookies with Cookie Monster.

Head over here to read all about Charlie and Owen’s Baking Cookies with Cookie Monster at Beaches adventure.
Camp Sesame
“Kids Camp because some of the characters came. One day we celebrated Elmo’s birthday. I ate birthday cake and brought a hat home.”
I was really torn about sending the kids to Camp Sesame during our stay. Even though this was a working conference for me, it was also our family vacation for the year. I hated to send the kids away and felt like I would miss something from our special trip with them.

As you can tell, we did send the boys to Camp Sesame and they loved it! Charlie insisted on going every day and would have gladly stayed there all day. I can’t tell you how much of a blessing it is that there’s somewhere safe to leave the kids so Mom and Dad can enjoy some alone time on vacation. The staff is amazing and interacted with the kids, even when they just passed them walking around the resort.
The Beach
“The beach was really cool, but not the waves.”

From the moment we arrived on Beaches property, Charlie wanted to go to the beach! The first day he played in the water a little, but after that, he mostly stuck to the sand.
Apparently the waves were too much for him (a hurricane had just come through a week before we arrived), but he did love digging in the sand.

The beach at Iguana Island (we took an excursion, details to follow in another post) was much calmer. He ventured out with the GoPro!

Drinks at the Bars
Like any good parents at an all-inclusive resort, we took our kids to the bar! No, seriously! At Beaches the kids can order drinks at the bars!

During one of our times at the Pirates Island Waterpark, Charlie got a slushie from the swim up bar! How fun is that?

Before we left to head back to the airport, Charlie and I grabbed banana drinks from the Italian Village bar!

So… if you’re wondering if your preschooler will actually have a good time at Beaches, the answer is yes! There are a ton of activities just for the younger crowd! This list of favorites came straight from Charlie!
We received a discounted rate for our attendance at Social Media on the Sand, but all opinions are our own.
