This weekend was a pretty nice one (after we got a new window unit ac since central ac seems to have crapped out on us). Friday night we walked to a car show at the garage right below our house. Charlie thought it was pretty cool, but he kept talking about boats. I guess we need to find a boat show to go to (or maybe just visit one of the million marinas around here).
Yes, most of the cars were red. They were awesome though and it the smell (of course I stuck my head in so I could smell some) took me back to watching my grandfather restore his cars while I sat on a milk crate inside.
This one was from 1913. I totally forget what it was, but I was in awe. How cool is this?
Shortly after we got home, Mommom stopped by for a surprise visit and offered to take Charlie home with her for the night! After packing a bag, off he went!
You’d think we’d go to bed early or actually do something worth staying up late? Nope. Just did the same old thing and wandered to bed at the same time. The best part though? When Owen woke up a little after 6 for his morning feed, I was able to put him back down and then… get back in bed! This does not happen with a Charlie up and awake!
After collecting Charlie from Mommom’s Saturday, we headed to a wedding reception. Always fun to visit with family we rarely see. Charlie and Tommy, along with just about everyone else, socialized a bit and then headed to the pool. I skipped the pool and opted for the air conditioning and shade inside with Owen. It’s just too much work to get us ready for the pool for only a short amount of time.
Can you tell these two are cousins? They’re about 10 days apart, Charlie being the younger of the two. His Mommy, the bride, took these and I grabbed them off Facebook. They had a great time playing in the pool and just hanging out together.
Both our boys crashed almost immediately after being put in the car. I think Owen was actually out before his carrier was put in the car.
Did I mention that Charlie has been kicking butt at using the potty?!? It’s like a switch flipped and he’s all about it now! Finally! We just have to remind him to go, but it’s been 4 or 5 days now of mostly underwear and then training pants just for night time. We’re hoping this sticks.
Today we had church in the morning, did a little grocery shopping, then lounged around the house. I ran to the store tonight to pick up a kiddie pool for the summer, so hopefully the weather cooperates and we’ll get our first use tomorrow!
Owen is desperately trying to walk. He is 8 months today and has decided he can free-stand for a minute or so. Charlie started taking steps around this time, so it’s coming. Honestly though, I wouldn’t mind if he wanted to wait. Chasing two around will be um… entertaining?
I hope everyone had an amazing weekend and was able to get in some relaxation!
