5 Things That Make Me Most Happy Right Now

This is part 5 of 30 Things My Kids Should Know About Me.

5 most happy

1. My family. I love that my children have so much family nearby to grow up with. Both sets of grandparents are amazing and I’m so happy that they’re so involved already with the munchkins. To me, family is the most important thing.

2. Alone time for me. All day with two little boys is amazing, but sometimes Mommy needs to get away, even if it is just to the grocery store for an hour. It’s much needed alone time.

3. Alone time with Daddy. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s awesome when we get couple time. Sometimes that means sacrificing sleep to watch a movie after Sprout or Disney is turned off for the night, but that extra 2 hours is so worth it. We need that to refuel our connection. Happy parents = happy kids.

4. Being able to stay at home. This one is a constant battle for me. I’ve always worked and had my own money and socialization time. Although I miss those things, I LOVE that I get to watch my children learn and grown every day. I feel blessed beyond measure to be able to do this right now.

5. Sleep. I feel completely worn out most days. Mommy could use a little extra sleep at night (or a nap during the day would be amazing). Sleeping in (until 7am) really does make Mommy happy.

Sounds like a good series! I need to get more sleep, too. I always go to bed waaaaay too late!

Alone time is good for everyone I think. As much as we love our kids & families, I think we need a little while to regroup sometimes. I know I do!

It’s hard to get away with Hubs from ONE kid. We are both workaholics, and I’m NOT a night owl. Makes for a tough combo.

I was home a lot of the time when my daughter was little. It makes a big difference when you can do that.

Isn’t it funny how sleeping in until 7 am is a gift now? I can’t remember the last time I slept past 8. And “me” time is SO important!

What a sweet list! Being a mom is a joy and a sacrifice at the same time, but the joys totally outweigh the sacrifices.

I absolutely love being able to stay home. I’m happy to be out of the corporate rat race and working for myself. I probably am a tougher boss to myself though!

Making a list of all the things we are grateful for, sure make that list of things we aren’t look shameful (at least for me). I am jealous that you get to watch your kids grow up, I’ve missed so much having to work. I only got 2 weeks of ‘maternity’ leave with each of my children, and I can tell you now I wish I could go back..I would of made it work someway to stay home with them more!
