This post is written in partnership with Jenny Craig. All opinions are my own.
First things first, as of May 1st and 4 months into my Jenny Craig program, I’m thrilled to report that I am down 32.4 lbs! Guys, that is a lot of weight! That’s right about what Owen weighs. That means that I was practically carrying around my 3.5 year old all the time! That’s crazy, right?
Here’s the thing though, it’s not been all glitter and rainbows over here. I traveled to Kentucky for a girls getaway and managed to only gain about 1 lb, which I felt pretty good about. Read my tips for traveling on Jenny Craig to help you succeed even while away.
I was also sick with a stomach bug for about a week and had seriously allergy issues another week, which took a toll on my exercise plan. We also had Charlie’s 6th birthday party, where I enjoyed a couple of small slices of pizza and a small piece of cake. Honestly, the goal is not to deprive yourself, but to know your limits and portion size.

This past month I lost 7.6 lbs. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but that’s almost 2 lbs a week, which is great!
With the weight I’ve lost so far, I’ve definitely noticed my energy level has increased. When another mom posted on facebook that her softball team was looking for another player, I seriously freaked out thinking I wasn’t going to type my reply fast enough! I played softball for about 13 years and loved every minute of it. I’ve been wanting to play again, but you know… I was overweight, didn’t have time, didn’t have money, and whatever other excuse you can think of.
Playing softball again feels amazing! I’m out there on the field running, playing, and best of all – getting exercise in that’s fun!
We just got family pictures taken again and for the first time in a long time, I felt confident! That’s what Jenny Craig is doing for me – giving me my confidence back. I’m getting in the pictures and smiling!
